Much like the idea for the book in the first place, occasionally I get an idea and there’s only one way to get it out of my head, the result being the image you see here.

Amazingly, I’m nearing the halfway point in book pages, and they look fantastic. Van and I are pretty psyched about the direction the story has taken.  Be prepared for some teasers coming soon. For right now, just get excited. The second book is filled up with more of everything (including pages!).

Before I go back to the drawing board I’d like to thank the creative writing professors and the students at UCA for having me over to talk about the book and give a reading of the comic on Friday. Until then I wasn’t sure how fun a comic reading could be.

Work continues

January 25, 2010

We’re hard at work on the sequel to Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer, but since it will be several months before we see the finished project, and several months after that before you’ll see the finished project, I thought I’d put up a sketch I did of Carlotta and Canpanella (Fairy). If you’re wondering, no the book won’t be in color, but yes, the characters will be getting a big of a makeover.

In other news, Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer has also made The Young Adult Library Services Association’s top ten list of great graphic novels for teens. Woo Hoo!

Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer is alsonow available at Comixology Web site as an app you can download from iTunes for those of you who don’t want to be caught in a comic book store, but still want to check out the book!

New site

December 6, 2009

We’ve changed things around on the Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer Web site a bit. The previous program I’d been using limited what could be done, so I just designed the new page from scratch.  As I get more accustomed to working in html, css, and php we’ll probably see the Web site expand to include more bells and whistles.
